What is TOGETHER?

The TOGETHER Program provides a safe place for couples wanting to work together to build long-lasting changes in their families.

What are TOGETHER’s eligibility requirements?

You and your partner must be 18 years or older and must have lived together for at least one year.

How can I participate?

If you meet the eligibility requirements and would like to participate, contact us to see if TOGETHER is the right program for you.

How do I make my first appointment?

Once you have called the TOGETHER phone number (1-877-432-1669) and answered the initial contact and screening questions, you will be notified if you are eligible or ineligible to participate in TOGETHER. During this phone call, you will be able to make your first appointment with your case manager for your intake and enrollment meeting.

Where is my intake and enrollment meeting with my case manager?

Depending if you are participating from Montgomery County, MD or Northern Virginia, this will determine your appointment location. If you are participating under Montgomery County, MD, your appointment location is Family Services, Inc. If you are participating under the Northern Virginia area, your appointment location is The Women’s Center.

 How do I know if I belong to the intervention or control group?

During your intake and enrollment meeting, your case manager will let you and your partner know what group you and your partner were randomly assigned to.

Why is this program broken down into two different groups?

Because it is a study, there must be two different groups receiving different services in order to compare for the research. 

What if we would like to be in the control group?

Because this is a study, the staff, researchers, and potential participants are not able to choose which group couples are assigned to.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule the Intake and Enrollment Meeting?

Contact your case manager. The intake and enrollment meeting can be rescheduled as long as the case manager has availability in his/her schedule close to the beginning of one of the TOGETHER workshops. It may happen that a couple may have to wait a few months to reschedule the meeting. If this is the case, the initial contact and screening staff or case manager will ask permission to contact the couple in between to ensure they are still interested in participating in the program.

All information provided by participants in person or electronically is strictly confidential.
