The Women’s Center

The Women’s Center provides a wide range of mental health services for individuals, couples and families, career services, and financial education. WC is especially known for its domestic violence services and is the leading nonprofit partner in the Domestic Violence Advocacy Center in Fairfax County. WC has a large service capacity. In 2012 WC provided over 25,677 hours of counseling or 2,448 counseling clients, 29,293 hours of service to 3,795 clients, provided 1,500 hours of assistance to domestic violence victims and helped over 435 victims of domestic violence and abuse.

SkillSource Group

In 2003, SkillSource was created as the non-profit entity of the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board (NVWIB, Area #11) with a mandate for fiscal oversight and resource development in support of its programs and services.  The Northern Virginia Workforce Investment System is comprised of private and public sector partners promoting the economic prosperity and long-term growth of Northern Virginia that offers businesses and jobseekers the tools needed to remain competitive in today’s global marketplace. Representing the most populous local workforce area in Virginia, SkillSource, administers activities at its six  SkillSource One-Stop Employment Centers in Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties and the cities of Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park. The SkillSource Centers have been operated by Fairfax County Department of Family Services (DFS) since 2002 and received over 70,000 adult job seeker visits in FY 2014. DFS, has an outstanding track record of meeting and exceeding Workforce Investment Act performance measures.
